Blind Show Jumper at Paris Masters
Updated:
July 28, 2017In 2016, the Longines Masters of Paris organizers invited French Rider, Salim Ejnaini to give a demonstration. At an event that already hosts the top riders in the world of show jumping, Salim’s ride was truly inspirational.
Due to a degenerative disease, Salim started to lose his eyesight at just six months old. Having started riding at 12 before he lost his eyesight completely when he was 16, he still competes to this day in show jumping.
Salim uses callers in the arena to direct him where to go aboard his horse Rapsody, who Salim says is proof of “what is really possible when you deeply trust your horse, even if you’re a blind man.”
