October 7, 2019 – The Equine Cushing’s and Insulin Resistance (ECIR) Group Inc is very pleased to announce that the third film in the ECIR Group NO Laminitis film series is complete and available for viewing on the ECIR website

An investment of less than 20 minutes of your time will bring you a personal presentation by Drs. Eleanor M. Kellon and Jaini Clougher, with the help of ECIR Group members, of an in-depth understanding of key areas affecting the health of horses in your care.

Here’s a sample:

  • What works?
  • What to do in in emergency?
  • What complications should be considered?
  • What is most important in your hay analysis?
  • Why?
  • Which minerals are so important for the horse?
  • Why it works.

Diet and Drugs is the third in a series of films that the ECIR Group continues to produce to help people with PPID/EMS horses to find their way to the ECIR Group and implement proven protocols for caring for equines with metabolic disorders.

The first film by the ECIR Group, Who we are. What we do won the Special Recognition for Equine Health and Education award in 2017 at the Equus International Film Festival.

The ECIR Group’s second film, Getting the Correct Diagnosis, features step-by-step information to help equine professionals and owners know what symptoms to look for, what to test for, when to test, and how to interpret the test results. Straightforward as this may seem, misdiagnosis is a common problem when it comes to Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID) and Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS), which has a significant impact on the health of the horse.

All three films were made possible because of donations from an Anonymous Friend of ECIR and our loyal Benefactors at Auburn Labs Inc., California Trace, Forageplus, Mad Barn, Soft-Ride Boots, and Uckele Health and Nutrition. The films were produced by 1013media of the San Francisco Bay area.

A fourth film focusing on TRIM is currently in the works.

Be sure to share it with your friends, your vets, your barn managers, your farriers and trimmers – everyone you know with horses in their care. You can view all of our films on the ECIR website.
